Gor Sahakyan Becomes European Champion

Gor Sahakyan, competing in the 67 kg weight category, secured the first gold medal for the Armenian national team at the European Weightlifting Championship.

In the snatch event, the Armenian weightlifter took first place with a result of 145 kg, surpassing the Turkish athlete who placed second by 4 kg.

In the clean and jerk event, Sahakyan ordered the highest weight of 170 kg for his first attempt. With his initial lift, Gor raised the barbell, ensuring his championship title. Already in the champion's position, Sahakyan lifted 175 kg in his second attempt, and in his third attempt, he opted out, finishing with a total of 320 kg and claiming the title of European Champion.
