Armenia Prepares List of Dairy Producers Complying with Russian Requirements: Rosselkhoznadzor
Armenia will prepare a list of dairy producers that can meet Russian requirements following the suspension of dairy supplies to Russia. This was stated on the official website of Rosselkhoznadzor.
It was reported that today in Moscow, negotiations were held at the initiative of the Armenian side between Sergey Dankvert, head of Rosselkhoznadzor, and Armen Hayrapetyan, head of the State Food Safety Service of the Republic of Armenia, with the participation of a representative from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“To regulate the current situation and restore the previous level of trust between agencies, the parties have agreed to carry out phased work. Armenia will check Armenian companies and will send the names of those enterprises that can meet Russian requirements. Rosselkhoznadzor will conduct inspections and make a decision on allowing trade with Russia based on the results,” the statement said.
The head of Rosselkhoznadzor emphasized that Russia is fully supplied with dairy products that are also supplied to external markets. Therefore, Russia may be interested in purchasing traditional and exclusively Armenian products made from local ingredients.
Armen Hayrapetyan noted that he has reviewed the report of Rosselkhoznadzor's inspection, which revealed several critical issues regarding the control of dairy supplies to Russia. It should be noted that earlier it became known that Rosselkhoznadzor requested Armenia's veterinary service to suspend dairy supplies to Russia starting April 5.
