Video: Azerbaijani Soldier Suspected of Killing Civilian, Says Simonyan

If Azerbaijan wants peace, then why have 33 Armenian prisoners of war not yet been returned? This was stated by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a press briefing following the plenary session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS.

“Why is the Lachin corridor closed? We propose withdrawing troops from the border. If Azerbaijan has won the war and if the issue of Artsakh is closed, then why are Armenian and Azerbaijani soldiers still dying? If the issue is closed, it is unclear why Azerbaijani soldiers are sacrificing themselves,” said Simonyan.

The National Assembly President also referred to the Azerbaijani soldiers who crossed into Armenian territory and were arrested. Alen Simonyan noted that one of the detained Azerbaijani soldiers is suspected of killing a civilian.
