Former Deputy Minister of Defense Alik Mirzabekyan Fails to Appear in Anti-Corruption Court

The newspaper "Hayots Ashkhar" reports that former Deputy Minister of Defense Alik Mirzabekyan did not appear in the Anti-Corruption Court. He was summoned as a witness in the criminal case against former Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan.

According to information from "Hayots Ashkhar," Mirzabekyan has submitted a request to the Anti-Corruption Court, stating that he has health issues and therefore cannot attend the court.

It is worth mentioning that "Hayots Ashkhar" had previously reported that in the criminal case involving former Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan and other former officials of the Ministry of Defense, former Deputy Minister Alik Mirzabekyan, Seyran Ohanyan, and several employees of the Ministry of Defense were to be summoned to court. Seyran Ohanyan has appeared and been interrogated, and the questioning of the Ministry of Defense employees is ongoing.

Additionally, it should be noted that Mirzabekyan was dismissed in 2016 from his position as Deputy Minister of Defense for Material and Technical Supply by order of Serzh Sargsyan. Reports indicate that Mirzabekyan conducted procurements of weapons and food supplies at prices higher than the market rates.
