Details of the Murder of a 57-Year-Old Guard Revealed with Gunshot Wounds

The Investigation Committee of Armenia is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder of a 56-year-old man at a security post of the ZPMK LLC company in the village of Shgharkh in the Kapan community.

On April 12, 2023, at 18:10, a report was received from the Kapan Medical Center and the Kapan police regarding a deceased man with gunshot wounds found at the mentioned security post.

As a result, on April 12, 2023, the Investigation Committee initiated a criminal proceeding under the features of Article 155, Part 1, and Article 335, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. During the examination of the crime scene, the body of the 56-year-old man was discovered in front of the mobile cabin of the security company's second group post, with penetrating gunshot wounds to the front and back walls of the thorax and a blind gunshot wound to the right temple of the head.

Samples were taken from the crime scene, including a shotgun that was found inside the cabin, as well as other items of interest to the investigation.

Complex examinations have been appointed, including forensic medical, genetic, forensic, and ballistic examinations. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, with investigative and procedural actions being carried out, as well as operational and investigative measures aimed at clarifying all circumstances of the incident and identifying and locating the person(s) suspected of committing the crime.
