Residents of Tegh Demand Their Weapons, Says MP

Garni Danielyan, an MP from the "Armenia" faction, writes: "Dear compatriots, following yesterday's Azerbaijani aggression and another provocation, I immediately traveled with my colleagues to the Tegh community in Syunik Province. After meetings with the residents, we noted numerous issues. Upon returning to Yerevan, our faction will address these problems and demand urgent solutions from the relevant authorities. The primary issues relate to security.

After the enemy's advance and positioning, the village has come under their scrutiny. The villagers have been deprived of the opportunity to cultivate their lands, leaving them without livelihoods. Following the enemy's advance, the use of pastures has also become impossible. The residents demand that they be provided with weapons to have a means of self-defense in case of possible diversionary attacks.

It should be noted that almost no family from the Tegh community has left. There is no panic in the village; the spirit of the people is intact. However, it is natural to feel concern regarding potential future provocations. The residents have justifiably expressed dissatisfaction with the authorities for leaving them alone and defenseless against the enemy.

Our visits to Syunik and the bordering communities will be of a periodic nature. Together, we must do everything to ensure that the villagers living along the border feel a sense of security and support from us. Today, not only soldiers but also villagers are defending us by remaining in their homeland and contributing during these difficult conditions.

I extend my condolences to the families of our brothers who have heroically fought and perished for the homeland. I wish a swift recovery to the wounded. Unity and strength to all of us—to become a fist and protect our right to exist in our homeland."
