France Expresses Deep Concern Over Violence Near Tegh Village
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement regarding the armed attack by the Azerbaijani side on the village of Tegh in the Republic of Armenia.
“France expresses deep concern about the violence that occurred on April 11 at the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, in the area of the village of Tegh, which resulted in casualties and injuries on both sides. This serves as a reminder that the demarcation must be carried out solely through negotiations, and we urge both parties to continue their efforts in this direction.
Respect for Armenia's territorial integrity and the withdrawal of Azerbaijani forces from the occupied positions on the Armenian side of the contact line are essential to prevent future incidents and to maintain the foundations of stable peace in the region. France fully supports the activities of the EU monitoring mission stationed on the Armenian side of the border. The mission will continue to work with the European Union to promote the ceasefire, dialogue, and the continuation of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
