Four Soldiers Killed in Gunfire at Indian Military Base; Assailants at Large
In a military facility in Punjab, India, a shooting incident has resulted in the deaths of four soldiers. The area has been cordoned off, and search operations are underway, reports Al Jazeera.
According to the Indian Army's South-Western Command, "The shooting incident occurred early this morning at 04:35 inside the Bathinda military base. Rapid response teams have been activated." The statement also mentioned that search operations are in progress.
It has also been reported that one Insas rifle and some ammunition went missing two days prior to this incident. The shooting occurred in a recreation room designated for officers. All four gates leading to the military base have been locked down, and soldiers have yet to allow police to enter the base area.
