Russian Military Base's Drones Conduct Reconnaissance in Armenia

Servicemen from the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) unit of the Russian military base in Armenia have carried out a series of special tasks during the winter training period control exercises. This was reported by the press service of the Southern Military District.

The UAV units conducted terrain reconnaissance and guided fire toward the conditional enemy's ground targets in collaboration with artillery units and special forces groups.

Experts provided information on the regulations for the deployment of reconnaissance complexes, their preparation, and the norms for manual and catapult launches. They performed flights in hard-to-reach mountainous areas and demonstrated safe landing skills of the UAV under challenging high-altitude conditions, including poor visibility, high precipitation levels, and strong winds.

Previously, servicemen from the Russian military base had passed tests on the tactical-technical characteristics of UAVs, the rules of airspace usage and distribution, and air traffic planning and coordination.
