Macron's Speech Interrupted by Activists in The Hague

French President Emmanuel Macron faced protests from activists during a speech at The Hague’s Nexus Institute, according to BFMTV. The speech, which outlined his vision for the future of the European Union, was disrupted by shouts from the audience.

Activists reportedly questioned Macron about the state of French democracy, why France is not upholding climate conventions, and asserted that no one would listen to him while millions are protesting on the streets of French cities.

In addition to shouting, several demonstrators also held signs reading "President of Violence and Deceit." BFMTV highlighted that in light of the protest, Macron promised to address any questions regarding the contentious reforms, including pension reforms. The French President specifically noted that the pension age in the Fifth Republic is set to rise to 64, while in the Netherlands, it is already "much higher."
