Karen Andreasyan Insults Judge Participating in the Supreme Judicial Council Elections: Alexander Azaryan

In the lead-up to the General Assembly of Judges held today, Karen Andreasyan, the separate temporary member and president of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), attempted to deny rumors about his resignation while hiding under the SJC press service. He once again insulted and labelled a judge participating in the elections with derogatory statements, thus publicly and unacceptably interfering in the elections. This statement was made by Alexander Azaryan, the president of the Union of Judges of Armenia, in response to a message released by the SJC press service.

“In the same manner, through the spokesperson, he displayed a disrespectful attitude toward the judge(s), considering himself a figure who inspires faith and reforms and possesses other self-admiring qualities. It must be noted that such behavior has now reached an irreparable pathological nature. Nevertheless, the judges made a free and correct choice, and I congratulate the entire judicial system on this occasion. At the same time, I urge judges to disregard the temporary difficulties and continue to act in favor of judicial power, the independence of judges, and the state,” the statement said.
