Aghavno Village Completely Destroyed by Azerbaijan
Using satellite imagery, the Center for Truth and Justice (CFTJustice) documented the complete destruction of Aghavno village by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh from January 29 to February 4, 2023. This information was reported by the Telegram channel bagramyan26.
Aghavno village is located in the Kashatagh region of the Republic of Artsakh. It serves as a strategically important junction for connecting the infrastructures of the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh. After the 44-day war in 2020, the village came under the control of the Russian armed forces deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh as per a trilateral agreement.
On August 25, 2022, Aghavno village, along with the villages of Nerk'in Sus and Berdzor town, was handed over to Azerbaijan, with Azerbaijani armed forces entering the village on the morning of August 26.
