The Head of the Center for Collaboration with Russian Peacekeepers in Artsakh Has Not Been Dismissed

Today, several Armenian electronic media outlets published an article titled "The Head of the Center for Collaboration with Russian Peacekeepers in Artsakh Has Been Dismissed," with the primary source being the newspaper Hraparak. This information was reported by the Information Headquarters of Artsakh.

“Some claims made in the article have no connection to reality, for example, 'According to certain sources, the reason for the dismissal (of Sergey Martirosyan – Secretary of the Security Council) is disagreements with State Minister Gurgen Nersisyan, who has complaints and decided to demote him by appointing him as Deputy Secretary of the Security Council. By dismissing Martirosyan, he has effectively been stripped of official communication with the Russian peacekeepers and the opportunity to be present at the processes,'” the statement continues.

In this regard, we inform that, by decree of the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Sergey Mikayel Martirosyan was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Artsakh on March 29, 2023, being relieved of his position as the Director of the Center for Ensuring Cooperation with the Russian Peacekeeping Forces. This information was posted on the official website of the Security Council of the Republic of Artsakh on March 30, 2023 (link).

As the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Artsakh, Sergey Martirosyan is also involved in issues of cooperation between the Office of the Security Council of the Republic of Artsakh and the Russian peacekeeping forces stationed in Artsakh.

Addressing the allegations regarding the relationships of Sergey Martirosyan with State Minister Gurgen Nersisyan of the Republic of Artsakh and others, we urge media outlets to strictly adhere to the legislative requirements and ethical norms regulating the mass media sector. We also urge the media to uphold the principle of providing accurate information to the public and refrain from disseminating misinformation, which would also neutralize the possibility of such fabrications being used by the adversary.
