Who is Competing for the Position of NA President? A Process Against Alen Simonyan Has Started
The newspaper 'Hraparak' writes that despite the discussion in the CPP board meeting the day before, the conduct and character of NA President Alen Simonyan were not a topic of debate. Naturally, there was also no mention of recalling Simonyan from the position of NA President, a proposal which had also been made by the first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan. However, one faction of the CPP has decided to initiate a process against the NA President, which is being realized through Facebook statuses and public interviews.
For instance, Vigen Khachatryan, an official from the Ter-Petrosyan era, stated that it is worth discussing the issue of the NA President. Andranik Kocharyan echoed a similar sentiment: 'Ter-Petrosyan has expressed an opinion. Respecting Ter-Petrosyan's viewpoint, it nonetheless needs to be studied further. It should be the subject of examination.'
According to our sources, the initiative against Alen Simonyan is being led by the Head of the CPP Faction, Hayk Konjoryan, who was brought to the CPP by Alen Simonyan after the revolution. As the well-known saying goes, 'the snake bites the one who warms it.' Our CPP sources indicate that Konjoryan himself is vying for the position of NA President.
