US Congress Members Visit Taiwan
A delegation of US Congress members, led by the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Republican Michael McCaul, has arrived in Taiwan, NBC News reports.
McCaul stated that the delegation's visit is a "signal to the Chinese Communist Party that the US supports Taiwan," and that US authorities want Beijing to think twice "before invading Taiwan." Representatives from both the Republican and Democratic parties have come to Taiwan.
The American legislators arrived the day after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's visit to Taiwan. The politician criticized Chinese authorities for accusing American political figures and Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen of violating the "One China" principle amid their meetings.
