Companies Affected by Azerbaijani Attack to Receive 817 Million Dram Compensation

Companies that sustained damage due to the Azerbaijani attack on September 13-14, 2022, will receive a compensation of 817,300,000 drams from the state budget. This decision was made during today’s government meeting.

The compensation is intended for organizations conducting road construction and engineering works in border areas commissioned by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, whose equipment was damaged or remained in territories controlled by Azerbaijan.

According to official data, 17 units of equipment belonging to 4 companies have come under the control of the adversary, including 5 bulldozers, 9 excavators, and 3 Kamaz trucks. Furthermore, 3 additional units of equipment (1 excavator, 1 Kamaz truck, and 1 mobile crane) were damaged due to the enemy shelling.

However, the compensation amount calculated by the government pertains to 19 out of 20 vehicles. “The necessary information regarding one vehicle has not been presented in documentary form by the relevant organization, which is why its assessment has not been conducted,” states the justification for the government decision.

The decision on compensation was initially adopted back on December 15, 2022, which authorized the Ministry of Defense to include a clause regarding compensation for damages in contracts signed with those organizations.
