Armed Attack Occurs Near Opposition Party Office in Turkey
On April 6, an armed attack took place near the Istanbul office of the opposition Kemalist "Republican People's Party" (CHP) in Turkey. According to ermenihaber.am, a security staff member at the party's office reported that 6-7 gunshots were heard.
Canan Kaftancıoğlu, the head of the CHP's Istanbul provincial office, stated that the attack attempted to target the party's building. Several party officials and political figures, including the president of the "Homeland" party and presidential candidate for the upcoming elections, Muharrem İnce, who was previously a member of the CHP, have issued statements condemning the attack.
It is worth noting that there was a previous attack on the Istanbul office of the "Good" party, and several opposition figures have accused the ruling party of orchestrating the assault.
