Unknown Individuals Destroy 714 Trees Belonging to Journalist
The president of the environmental educational NGO "Green Armenia" and journalist Tehmine Yenokyan wrote on her Facebook page: "In my two-hectare cherry orchard established in Gndevaz, about 714 trees were cut down. This crime was committed recently, and I have shared my suspicions with the police. The persecution against me has been ongoing for about a year, and the police and investigative bodies, in collaboration with the court, are either doing nothing or continue to support the criminals." Along with the post, she also published a photo.
Oleg Dulgharyan, the president of the NGO "Community Mobilization and Support Center," also commented on the incident on his Facebook page: "A group of unknown beasts has destroyed the orchard belonging to environmentalist/journalist Tehmine Yenokyan, located in the Vayots Dzor region of Gndevaz village. According to reports, nearly 700 young cherry trees have been destroyed. Persecutions and pressures against environmentalists, especially against Tehmine Yenokyan, continue in Armenia with new, inhumane manifestations," wrote Dulgharyan.
