Civil Contract Doesn’t Need Advice from Levon Ter-Petrosyan: Aren Mkrtchyan

The Civil Contract party does not need advice from Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Aren Mkrtchyan, a member of the parliamentary faction, stated this during a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly, responding to the first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan's article, in which he mentioned that the Civil Contract faction is obliged to initiate the issue of Alen Simonyan's dismissal.

“I would advise Levon Ter-Petrosyan to counsel the members of his political team. Regarding the demand from NGOs to establish an ethics committee in the National Assembly to discuss Alen Simonyan's behavior, of course, I am familiar with that, but Mr. Simonyan has clarified his position on his personal social media, and I have nothing to add. I generally believe we should all be a bit more reserved and consider that when meeting the Speaker of the National Assembly in the street, regardless of whether we accept this political force or not, we are talking about an institution. State institutions should be respected,” he said.
