Armenia and Russia Face Serious Challenges to Statehood: Kopirkin

Armenia and Russia are currently facing numerous serious challenges to their statehood, and in confronting these challenges, the glorious military traditions of their ancestors must come to their aid, said Sergey Kopirkin, the Russian ambassador to Armenia, during a conversation with journalists. He participated in the traditional event 'Memory Park.'

At the Victory Park in Yerevan, representatives from the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, the city hall, state bodies, diplomats, and veterans planted 100 cypress trees in memory of soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War.

The diplomat stated that mutual understanding and respect should prevail in bilateral relations. In his opinion, it is essential to be prepared to act in a manner where one country's interests align with those of its partners. Without this, peaceful sustainable development is simply impossible.

'Today's events demonstrate how important it is to absorb the lessons of history. We are obliged to take this into account. Those who ignore these lessons are doomed to repeat mistakes... Today, more than ever, what we are doing is of utmost relevance. We must preserve the memory and prevent the distortion of history. The distortion of history brings pain, evil, and war. We are currently witnessing this very clearly,' noted Kopirkin.
