Henrikh Mkhitaryan: 'I Feel Guilty'
Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has commented on the 0:1 defeat to Fiorentina in the 28th round of the Italian league. The former captain of the Armenian national team had a brilliant opportunity to score in the 21st minute, but Italian goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano made a save (see video). In that moment, Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku was in a good position but did not receive a pass from the Armenian midfielder.
"I feel guilty for not taking advantage of that scoring chance. I think the only problem is missing goal opportunities. We haven't scored in three matches. Tonight, we could have scored three or four goals just in the first half, and we had chances at the end as well, but it didn't work out. In my situation, I could have passed to Lukaku, but I was in a good position and focused, but the adrenaline was high at that moment. It's not a motivation issue. We need to stay calm, clear-minded, and focused on scoring. Right now, something isn't working out. I think it's from the strong desire to score," Mkhitaryan's words are quoted by fcinternews.it.
In the Italian league, Inter has suffered three consecutive defeats and is currently third with 50 points.
