Collapse at Flour Mill Owned by Khachatur Sukiasyan
A serious incident occurred in Yerevan shortly ago. Around 14:30, the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia received a report that during demolition work at a flour mill located in the Silachi neighborhood, a wall collapsed, and debris fell onto the metro railway lines. This was reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan.
The General Director of the metro named after Karen Demirchyan, Babken Sedrakyan, arrived at the scene. A firefighting team from the 3rd fire and rescue squad of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an operational group from the crisis management center, and patrol officers from the 3rd battalion of the Yerevan city police, led by battalion commander Gor Arakelyan, were also dispatched to the scene along with the emergency medical team's on-duty staff and responsible officials from the metro.
It should be noted that metro operations have been suspended as debris has fallen onto the tracks.
