VIDEO: Snow Falls in Gyumri and Yerevan in Mid-Spring

Snow is falling in Gyumri and Yerevan in mid-spring. Media outlets are spreading footage showing the snowfall.

According to the Rescue Service, snow is falling in the Syunik region (except for the city of Meghri), Shirak region (except for the regions of Ashotik and Amasia), Gegharkunik region, as well as in the regions of Aparan and Talin, and the cities of Vanadzor, Berd, and Noyemberyan. Snow is also reported in the Sisian-Zanger section and Vardenyats Pass. In the elevated areas of Syunik and in the area known as 'Meghri Mountain,' fog is present.

The roads from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn region to Amberd Castle and Kari Lake are closed. The segment of the Yerevan-Meghri highway from the Jermuk junction to 'Zanger' is closed for trucks with trailers. Roads in the Syunik region are difficult to pass.

According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Federation's Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for trucks. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
