VIDEO: Netanyahu Supporters Take to the Streets in Israel as Tensions Remain High
Tensions continue to rise in Israel over judicial reforms. This time, thousands of supporters of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's controversial initiative have taken to the streets. At the same time, the politician himself has announced a suspension of discussions on the reforms until the parliament's summer session.
In order to demand the adoption of the reforms, protesters have blocked central highways in Tel Aviv. Participants in the march carry banners reading, “The people have chosen judicial reforms” and chant, “We will be governed by an elected government, not the Supreme Court.”
Police have yet to disperse the protesters supporting the prime minister's policies. No clashes have been reported between opponents and supporters of the reform.
