Mher Sahakyan Arrested, Vladimir Vardanyan Discharged from Hospital

Defense lawyer Ruben Melikyan stated in a conversation with reporters that Mher Sahakyan, a member of the 'Armenia' parliamentary faction, has been arrested for 72 hours. 'We are waiting for a decision. As we were informed initially, the arrest will continue. We are waiting to visit the investigative body,' Melikyan noted.

During a session of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, a confrontation occurred between the committee chair Vladimir Vardanyan and member Mher Sahakyan, resulting in an exchange of force. Vardanyan was transferred to 'Nairi' Medical Center.

Anna Ghazaryan, spokesperson for the 'Nairi' hospital, informed MediaHub that Vardanyan was admitted with a laceration to the left brow area of his face. 'Primary surgical treatment was performed, and the integrity of the wound was restored with subcutaneous cosmetic sutures. His condition is stable and satisfactory, and he has been discharged from the hospital,' she reported.

It is reported that Vardanyan has returned to the National Assembly.
