“Ashot Pashinyan was also attacked yesterday. Three days ago, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) attacked Vladimir Vardanyan, the chairman of the National Assembly's legal and constitutional affairs committee, and struck him. Afterwards, he ran away like a rabbit to his faction. In the center of Yerevan, an ARF figure carried out provocation against the Speaker of the National Assembly from a distance of about 100 meters, and yesterday, an attack also occurred against the son of the Prime Minister. This is a series of organized provocations, and I am confident that the traces lead beyond our country's borders. The legal and political reaction will not be long in coming,” Alen Simonyan wrote on his Facebook page.

“Armenia will remain and will develop democracy; there will be peace in our region,” he added.

He referred to an incident involving himself, stating that the Canadian-Armenian Karen Mkrtchyan had previously approached him with insults. “... The first time I ignored it a month ago, the second time, naturally, I countered his freedom of speech and insult with my opinion about him and my freedom. Then he went live on Facebook and narrated what happened,” the Speaker of the National Assembly noted.

It is noteworthy that the Speaker did not deny the young man's claim that he spat on him.
