Investigative Committee Provides Details on Incident in National Assembly
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has received reports regarding the incident that occurred between parliamentarians in the National Assembly. Currently, investigators are on the scene, conducting actions aimed at clarifying the preliminary circumstances of the event,” stated Gohar Abrahamyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
“At this moment, I can only say that one of the MPs has been taken to the police station, and another MP has sought medical assistance at a healthcare facility. After obtaining certain information, the Investigative Committee of Armenia will release official information as soon as possible,” he added.
It should be noted that today an incident occurred between MP Mher Sahakyan from the “Hayastan” faction and Vladimir Vardanian, the chairman of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the ruling party. According to Arthur Hovhannisyan, secretary of the ruling party faction, member of the ARF Mher Sahakyan struck chairman Vladimir Vardanian, who sustained bodily injuries.
