Enemy Forces Advance About 1 Kilometer Near Shushi: Details
According to the newspaper 'Hraparak', on March 25, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Azerbaijani forces, violating the provisions of the November 9, 2020 announcement, crossed the contact line in the Shushi region and occupied the 2054.0 height, located 2.9 km northeast of the mountain known as Sari Baba in Yeghdzahogh. They are currently carrying out engineering works to establish positions.
Immediately, reports surfaced that by capturing this height, the Azerbaijani side has taken control of the mountainous forest road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, which still maintained some level of connection with Armenia.
We inquired with our sources in Artsakh regarding the situation and how much the Azerbaijani forces have advanced. A contact who visited the area stated that they have not actually captured the terrestrial road but have approached it closely, making travel along this road dangerous and subject to targeting. Therefore, the Armenian side is avoiding the use of this route.
The enemy forces have advanced about 1 kilometer, which is also a result of the inaction and tolerance of the Russian peacekeepers. The peacekeepers are attempting to push the Azerbaijanis back through peaceful means, urging them to withdraw to their original positions, but so far, this has been unproductive.
Additionally, there are constant exchanges of fire between the Armenian Defense Army and Azerbaijani militants. However, there are no casualties or injuries reported.
