Israel Launches Military Radar Satellite

Israel has launched the "Shavit" rocket carrying the "Ofek-13 Earth" remote-controlled radar satellite, developed in accordance with the interests of the country's Ministry of Defense, announced the Israeli radio station "Arutz Sheva" (Seventh Channel) on Wednesday.

According to the radio station’s website, "The Ministry of Defense's Weapons and Technological Infrastructure Research and Development Administration, the Israel Defense Forces, and the Israel Aerospace Industries launched the 'Ofek-13' satellite at 2:10 a.m. on Wednesday."

"The launch was carried out via the 'Shavit' rocket from Israel's central testing site," the radio station adds. It noted that after the satellite enters orbit, specialists will conduct a series of tests on the device.
