US Demands to Stop Recognizing China as a Developing Country
The Congress has approved a bill that aims for Washington to strip China of its developing country status in international organizations and agreements.
According to the US, China "exploits this status to receive development aid and loans from international organizations." The proponents of the legislation stated, "China should be considered a developed country."
