Today Determines the Future of the World Order: Lavrov
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, delivered a speech during the general political discussion of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly. In his speech, he addressed the current global situation, as reported by Russian news outlets.
According to the Minister, the world order has two development scenarios. One of them implies the existence of a hegemon, while the other envisions a democratic and just world without coercion.
“Today determines the future of the world order; it is clear to any impartial observer. The question is whether this will be a mandate from a hegemon, forcing everyone to live by its notorious ‘rules’ that benefit only itself. Or will it be a democratic, just world without coercion, without threatening undesirable individuals, without neo-Nazism, and without neo-colonialism,” Lavrov stated.
The Foreign Minister added that Russia intends to follow the second scenario of world order development. Moscow, together with its allies, calls for working together to make this a reality.
