David Tonoyan on the 'Fifth Column' in the Armed Forces of Armenia
Former Armenian Minister of Defense David Tonoyan has responded to requests from media to comment on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's recent statements about the 'fifth column' during a press conference.
The legal team consolidated the questions received into one.
When asked if Pashinyan had ever told him during or after the war that there was a 'fifth column' in the armed forces, he replied:
“No, such insinuation has never been made. The thesis about the 'fifth column' and its discussion are unacceptable to me, as it is a politically motivated assertion that introduces division within the Armed Forces of Armenia. I also don't know whether the Prime Minister has any evidence of such a column existing, but if I'm not mistaken, he claimed that his assessments are based on facts.
I am convinced that public discussion of this political manipulation should cease, and we should wait for the publication of the mentioned facts, especially considering the fully probable resumption of new military actions.”
