White House Calls for De-escalation Between Armenia and Azerbaijan

The White House has called for de-escalation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as reported by Turan.

John Kirby, the Strategic Communications Coordinator for the National Security Council, responded to reporters' questions regarding the Biden administration's stance on the Caucasus, emphasizing the need for a reduction in tensions.

When asked about Washington's viewpoint on the presence of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, Kirby refrained from commenting.

The statements from the White House representative come after U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken held telephone conversations with the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan the day before, during which he offered U.S. support to facilitate peaceful negotiations between the two nations.
