VIDEO: "We Have Again Received Azerbaijani Proposals" - Mirzoyan
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, has provided details regarding the ongoing negotiations for a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to Mirzoyan, on one hand, there is a process concerning the peace treaty, while on the other, Azerbaijan's increasingly escalating rhetoric and aggressive actions are evident. “Recently, the promotion of anti-Armenian sentiments and direct threats has intensified. You recall that the President of Azerbaijan even stated there would be no peace treaty, claiming that they would not live quietly in 29,000 square kilometers of Armenia unless all of Azerbaijan's conditions are fully accepted. This ultimatum stance and rhetoric exist, and at the same time, negotiations concerning the peace treaty continue. We have again received Azerbaijani proposals, and we are working on them; our response and proposals will be forthcoming,” he stated.
Mirzoyan emphasized that the aggressive posture does not facilitate the peace process but rather creates obstacles. The Minister reminded that discussions regarding the regime of the Lachin corridor have long been concluded, with the arrangements being encapsulated in the trilateral statement from November 9, 2020. Mirzoyan further added that Armenia is not negotiating regarding the establishment of an Azerbaijani checkpoint in the Lachin corridor.
