Former US President Wants to Appear in Court in Handcuffs: Guardian
Former US President Donald Trump has decided to enter the courtroom in handcuffs if he is summoned for indictment, fingerprinting, and mugshots. This was reported by the Guardian, citing sources.
According to them, Trump aims to turn the court appearance into a spectacle, drawing attention to his 2024 presidential campaign among the American public. Sources indicate that the former White House leader fears that appearing in court unnoticed, for instance via video link, would portray him as a weak and defeated political figure.
As previously reported by Bloomberg, if Trump is indicted, he will be fingerprinted and photographed; however, due to his status, the former president will remain under the protection of the US Secret Service and will not be in handcuffs.
