Azerbaijani Armed Forces Open Fire on Approaching Russian Soldiers, Casualties Reported

Reports are circulating in the Armenian sphere indicating that two Russian soldiers, who were negotiating the return of an Armenian soldier in captivity, came under fire from Azerbaijani forces as they approached to retrieve the soldier.

“Our sources confirm that today in Syunik, two Russian soldiers were subjected to gunfire from the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and were seriously injured. They are alive and currently undergoing surgery,” states the Bagramyan26 Telegram channel, citing its sources.

According to disseminated information, despite the preliminary arrangement, Azerbaijani soldiers opened fire on the Russian soldiers and injured them.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense has denied that the Armenian soldier is in their custody.
