Russia Prepared to Assist in Resolving Issues Between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Lavrov Says
The statements of the leaders of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan continue to remain the key to resolving the situation in the region. This was announced today by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
The minister noted that today’s agenda is quite full and added that particular attention would be paid to security issues, especially the situation surrounding the Lachin Corridor.
Lavrov considers the agreements of the three countries' leaders as the basis for implementing all decisions aimed at ensuring stability in the region, covering economic, military-political, and international legal aspects.
Lavrov stated that Russia is ready to assist in any way to resolve the existing issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan, both in the unblocking of transport routes and in the coordination of a peace treaty.
It is worth noting that Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan last met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on March 3 in New Delhi.
