Intestinal Rods, Yeasts, and Molds Found in Cottage Cheese: State Food Safety Service Responds to Alert

The State Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia has recorded an alert in response to an article published on the "Hetq" website titled "Intestinal Rods, Yeasts, and Molds: Only 2 Out of 10 Samples of Cottage Cheese Are Compliant." This information has been communicated by the State Food Safety Inspection Body.

"Regulatory measures will be implemented at the indicated companies, and the results will be published. We also inform that the Inspection Body operates based on the norms defined by legal acts. Accordingly, inspections can only be conducted based on the Inspection Program approved by the Council of the Inspection Body, and complaints received from citizens, state and local self-government bodies, and public organizations. In addition to calls from the ‘Hot Line,’ the State Food Safety Inspection Body also registers alerts and takes action based on information received through media, social networks, and emails regarding violations of food safety norms," the statement from the inspection body reads.

The cottage cheese samples submitted for testing include products from various companies: under the first number, the cottage cheese from "Tamara" company; under the second, the "Marianna" cottage cheese produced by "Dustr Marianna" LLC; the third sample is from "Biokat" company; the fourth is from "Chanakh" company; the fifth is cottage cheese from "Ashtarak Kat"; the sixth is "Arzni Kat"; the seventh is the "Ani" (Ani) low-fat cottage cheese from "Tamara and Ani" company; the eighth is cottage cheese from "Marila" company; the ninth is cottage cheese from "Bonilat" company; and under the tenth number, the cottage cheese from "Father and Son Yeremyans" company, branded as "Yeremyan Products".

Out of the 10 samples of cottage cheese submitted for testing, only 2 complied with the established norms: the cottage cheeses branded as "Tamara" and "Ani."
