Yerevan Products Responds to Hetq Article
We are ready for public inspections and are responsible for the high quality of our products. This statement was made by Yerevan Products in response to an article published on March 15 of this year by the Hetq news website, which reported that out of 10 samples of widely consumed cottage cheese submitted for examination on March 2, 2023, only 2 showed no violations.
The company's statement specifically mentions: “Considering that the cottage cheese of the Yerevan Products brand was also submitted for examination, we state that we have earned the trust of our thousands of consumers through our diligent work and high product quality, which we continuously strive to improve every day. As a leading manufacturer in the market, we welcome and value this initiative from the Hetq news website. Our followers know that we have consistently raised concerns about food safety issues in Armenia, being dedicated producers and ensuring that consumers are provided with only high-quality products. Therefore, we hope that this initiative will be continuous, recurring, and carried out with full diligence.
Yerevan Products has its own laboratory, where milk arrives from farms in specially refrigerated vehicles. Upon acceptance of the milk, sampling is conducted, and the sample undergoes physicochemical, organoleptic, and microbiological tests. These studies are mandatory before and after every stage of production. The finished product is also tested and will only be sent to consumption points after it meets all standards.
In the event that even one violation is discovered in the finished product, the respective batch will simply not leave the factory and will be fully destroyed. In addition to our own laboratory, we collaborate with other state-accredited laboratories in Armenia, through which we rigorously monitor the high quality of our products through periodic inspections. Therefore, all batches of dairy products currently available on the market comply with all food safety standards and requirements.
As mentioned by experts in the article, the identified violations may result from errors made in the secondary and even tertiary supply chain or issues related to the storage of dairy products. We send products that have passed all inspections and meet the standards to consumption points, and we cannot be held responsible for violations that arise during their storage or transport chain. However, we are responsible to our consumers, and we invite the State Sanitary and Anti-Epidemic Inspection, government agencies and relevant bodies, organizations, as well as media and all interested parties to understand that we are ready for public inspections and any kind of research to present credible results to consumers.
We are confident in the high quality of our products and are responsible for every letter on the label. From now on, we will publicly present the results of our laboratory tests daily, as well as the examination data that are carried out weekly at independent laboratory research centers.
Regarding labeling, our label has Russian inscriptions, which, according to regulations, is completely sufficient. The health of our consumers has always been and remains our top priority. Recognizing this, we pioneered and began operating under the 'From Seed to Table' concept in 2019, which allows us to control the entire food production chain.
According to the requirements of the closed chain concept, milk is produced in our farm in compliance with all established standards. Being advocates for the formation and dissemination of a culture of consuming quality dairy products, we are ready for collaborations to implement effective projects in our society in this direction, to improve the level of education, and to raise awareness.
