About 2.5 Tons of Uranium Missing from Libyan Military Facility: Reuters
Inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have determined that approximately 2.5 tons of uranium are missing from a military facility in Libya. This was reported by Reuters, citing the statement of the organization’s Director General Rafael Grossi.
On March 14, IAEA inspectors found during a verification check that 10 barrels containing roughly 2.5 tons of natural uranium in the form of uranium concentrate, which were reportedly supposed to be there according to Libyan officials, were absent. Grossi stated that the IAEA will take 'further measures' to investigate the reasons behind the disappearance of the uranium.
