Mikael Arzumanyan's Detention Extended for the Fourth Time

According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, the Armenian Investigative Committee has extended the detention of former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Mikael Arzumanyan for the fourth time. The newspaper learned that on February 27, the court decided that he must remain in custody for another two months. It should be noted that Arzumanyan has been in detention for six months now.

Recall that on September 1, 2022, the Prosecutor's Office announced that Mikael Arzumanyan, former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army and advisor to the President of Artsakh, has been charged for giving the order to retreat during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war involving the strategically important "Arega" heights and the personnel who liberated adjacent combat positions.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, referring to Arzumanyan, mentioned during his briefing that people are urging for forgiveness. He questioned whether it should not be revealed how Shushi fell. In other words, yesterday Pashinyan effectively wrote Arzumanyan's accusatory verdict instead of the investigative committee.
