Joint Naval Exercises of Russia, China, and Iran Have Begun
Joint naval exercises titled "Maritime Security Belt-2023" involving Russia, China, and Iran have commenced in the Arabian Sea near the Iranian port of Chabahar. This was reported on Wednesday by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The Russian side is represented by a fleet of ships from the Northern Fleet, including the frigate "Gorshkov" and the medium sea tankers "Kama." The naval phase of the exercises will take place from March 16 to 17. During this phase, participants will develop the formation of an inter-state detachment of warships, conduct joint maneuvers, and carry out artillery firing both during the day and at night.
Additionally, scenarios involving the liberation of captured vessels, assistance to ships in distress at sea, and various other tasks will be addressed.
The military department clarified that the results of the joint exercises will be summarized on March 18, following the conclusion of the "Maritime Security Belt-2023" exercises.
