Discussion on Merger of Brusov State University Not on the Agenda, Ministry Statement
A temporary acting rector has been appointed at V. Brusov State University. This was reported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. The announcement specifically states: 'Based on Article 23, Part 7 of the Law on Foundations, by the order of the Minister of Justice, a temporary council composed of 3 members has been appointed for the V. Brusov State University foundation, consisting of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, Deputy Minister of Justice Armenuhi Harutyunyan, and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Zarouhi Matevosyan.'
The temporary council will exercise all powers of the board of trustees prescribed by law, aimed at continuing the foundation's activities. Guided by Article 23, Part 7, Clause 3 and Article 25, Part 1, Clause 6 of the Law on Foundations, the temporary council decided to appoint Candidate of Philological Sciences David Gyurjinyan as the acting rector until the rector is elected in accordance with the charter of the foundation and the results of the election are approved by the founder.
At the same time, considering the deliberately spread misinformation and possible misinterpretations related to the issue, we find it necessary to emphasize that the appointment of the acting rector is not related to the process of mergers among universities; the issue of merging V. Brusov State University is not being discussed at this time. The claim that there is a danger of the university's dissolution is also untrue; such authority is prohibited by law.
