British and German Fighters Jointly Chase Russian Aircraft for the First Time

British and German fighter jets have chased a Russian aircraft not far from Estonian airspace. Western aviation frequently intercepts aircraft from the Russian military, but this marks the first instance of such a joint operation between the German and British air forces, as reported by the BBC's Russian service via Factor.

Two Typhoon fighters intercepted an Il-78 military transport refueling aircraft flying between St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad. It has been reported that the Russian aircraft did not establish communication with air dispatchers in Estonia. After the Typhoons escorted the Il-78, they also intercepted an An-148 aircraft, which was flying near the Estonian airspace.

Additionally, the British and German fighters are conducting planned patrols in the airspace of NATO countries.
