Nairi Hunanian's Brother Seeks Clemency

The media reported that a document reveals Nairi Hunanian's brother, Karen Hunanian, has submitted a request to the Minister of Justice for his release. According to protocol, the document is forwarded by the Ministry of Justice to the Prime Minister, after which a decision is made.

MediaHub.am spoke with the widow of Yuri Bakhshyan, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament who was killed on October 27, Anahit Bakhshyan, to understand if she has any information regarding this matter.

"Today I contacted the Ministry of Justice of Armenia and found out that Karen Hunanian indeed applied to the commission dealing with clemency requests, which he had the right to do. The process within that commission is confidential; thus, it is limited to that," said Bakhshyan.

She added that simultaneously, Deputy Minister of Justice Balyan advised her not to worry. "But I am worried because these scoundrels have the right to submit a request for clemency. I want to convey my concern to the Minister of Justice, Mr. Grigor Minasyan," she noted.
