Gunshots in Yerevan: Man Fires at Ex-Wife Twice, Then Shoots Himself
On March 14, gunshots were heard in Yerevan. Around 09:40, the Malatya police department of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs received a report of gunfire at the intersection of Romanos Melikyan and Tichina streets, with casualties reported, according to shamshyan.com.
A team of emergency medical responders transported two individuals—a woman and a man— to the hospital from near the building at 20 Tichina Street.
At the site, Lada and Opel vehicles were found, along with what appeared to be bloodstains and a firearm.
The police have cordoned off the area, and an investigation is underway at the scene. A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of attempted murder. The police and investigative department are working to identify the victims and the vehicle owners.
Several witnesses at the scene reported that the injured individuals are former spouses, currently in court over their divorce. They stated that the husband arrived at the location in a Lada, exited the vehicle, fired two shots at his wife, and then shot himself once.
