I Have Been Ready to Solve the Issue Without Crossing Our Red Lines: Serzh Sargsyan
The third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, addressed the issue of the Artsakh question in the context of the current government's approach and methodology in the negotiations for the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations during a conversation with journalists.
"They are simply trying to 'save' Armenia through the sacrifice of Artsakh, in their opinion," Sargsyan stated, adding, "I have been ready to solve the issue without crossing our red lines."
In response to a question about whether he would publish insights not included in his book 'On the Negotiating Front' or official documents, the former president said, "I am often asked when I will write a book or memoirs, and I always respond the same way. I will give that answer now too: I do not plan to write memoirs in the near future, considering that, as before, I have a problem with time, and especially now, I do not think it is the right time for that."
"There are much more important issues and concerns at the moment, and we need to think in that direction," he noted.
When asked by a journalist whether this means he will remain active in politics, Serzh Sargsyan replied, "I do not think I am currently in a passive political phase."
