Prime Minister Pashinyan: Azerbaijani Sabotage Group's Actions Cannot Be Qualified as Anything but Terrorism

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the French co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Brice Roquefort. During the meeting, the Prime Minister drew the co-chair's attention to the fact of a sabotage attack carried out by the Azerbaijani armed forces in Nagorno-Karabakh on March 5, as a result of which three servicemen from the Police Department of Passports and Visas of the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Internal Affairs were killed, and one was injured.

Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the actions of the Azerbaijani sabotage group can only be characterized as terrorism and added that, parallel to nearly three months of blockade of the Lachin corridor and actions aimed at creating a humanitarian disaster in Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan continues its terroristic actions against the Armenian population of Artsakh with the ultimate aim of carrying out ethnic cleansing.

Both sides stressed the necessity of Azerbaijan's immediate implementation of the International Court of Justice's decision to unblock the Lachin corridor. At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that under the current conditions, the deployment of an international fact-finding group to the Lachin corridor and Nagorno-Karabakh has become a vital necessity.

Discussions also included issues related to the normalization process of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. The importance of the EU civilian mission's activities in Armenia was also highlighted, as it would contribute to stability and peace in the region.
