US Diplomat Discusses Armenian-Azerbaijani Peace Treaty in Baku

The United States supports the establishment of long-term peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Luis Bono, the senior advisor to the US Secretary of State for South Caucasus, during a working visit to Baku. He also noted that at this moment, the United States primarily plays the role of a supporter of the peace process.

"The peace treaty must be sustainable. It should stem from the desires of the parties (i.e., Armenia and Azerbaijan) and not from the United States or any other country. Our goal is to facilitate dialogue between the parties," Bono declared.
