Messi Rejects PSG's Initial Contract Extension Offer
The world champion of the Argentina national team and 35-year-old striker of French champion PSG, Lionel Messi, has rejected the Parisian club's initial offer regarding a contract extension, despite having had a verbal agreement with the club prior to the 2022 World Cup, La Vanguardia reports.
Messi received the official written offer last week and was dissatisfied with the salary amount. Due to issues related to financial fair play, PSG is forced to reduce its total salary by 30 percent for the next season.
Messi's current contract is set to expire at the end of this season. PSG wishes to extend the collaboration for another year.
